Adding chainmail to a helm...

The helm itself is leather and was not made by me. My job in this project was to add the chain.

(that's a rubber duckie... a giant rubber duckie... just in case you were wondering...)

Creative Friday - Tying a (Celtic) knot! (Ooohh, Aaahh)

Natural Suburbia's Creative Friday!
This week, I decided to post a photo tutorial on tying a knot.
I have no idea what the knot is called (if you know, please tell me!)
Enjoy!

Whovian Love!

I am a HUGE Doctor Who fan, my love ranging from William Hartnell's first Doctor to Matt Smith's eleventh. I saw this TARDIS Dishcloth on Ravelry.com and just had to whip one up. I might be making more soon, just to have a set.

(I need to take a better picture...)

Knitting for my Brats

I found this first pattern in a book I checked out from my local library, Domiknitrix. I've renewed it a few times, even gone back and checked it out again. I've hinted to my loving friends and family that it would be a great Christmas present... :P

I made the Jughead Hat for my son's first birthday, and called it his Birthday Crown (which he refused to keep on his head). The top of the hat is a little more pointed than it should have been, I don't think I stitched it up right. I have been thinking of adding some kind of pom-pom to the top, but I haven't decided.

This next one is a pattern I found on Ravelry.com (Beach Hat), and made for my daughter. She loves hats, and I may have to make one for the duck...

Creative Friday

Natural Suburbia's Creative Friday!

This is my first Creative Friday post, and I've decided to kick it off with some Digital Scrapbooking. This first one I made for my neighbor when she had her first baby girl.

This next one was made with one of the Halloween photos (from my previous post).

It's been a while since I made these, so how about something current (or at least semi-current)? This is my daughter, the photo was taken a few months ago. The paper and the ribbon were part of some freebies I picked up, and the chain and letter charms were my own fun.

Note: These were made using freebies and my own creativity... but I don't remember what sites I got the freebies from. If anyone recognizes anything that should be credited, just let me know. Nicely.

Halloween Photos

Halloween is always a fun time of year. A few years ago, I took a few pictures of my friend's cat, Merlin... then of a pumpkin.

Digging out some old craft photos...

More to come soon... I need to grab a nap before breakfast.

Introductions? Sure, why not...

Here we are, my new blog. I have a ton of blogs out there, most of them private for my own thoughts and ramblings, ideas and brainstorms, blah blah blah. This one is for my crafts.

I am a mother of two, my daughter nearly three and my son recently one.I'm not an expert at anything, but I dabble in nearly anything craft. If I haven't done it yet, I'm sure it's queued.
